Learn to Play the Harp!

Harp Lessons for Children and Adult Beginners

I love to teach music. Harp lessons are available to beginning and intermediate students of all ages. Although previous musical training is helpful, it is not at all necessary. Students must have some type of harp available for daily practice. It is not necessary to begin with a concert grand harp, and there are less expensive options available. If you do not have a harp, I can offer advice on a purchase or help you arrange for a rental harp.

Enrich your life. Develop your gifts. Discover passion for life through music study. People study music for a wide variety of reasons: from aspirations of becoming a great performer to making music as a spiritual practice. I adapt my teaching approach to your goals so that it is fun and rewarding. I encourage the development of a strong technical foundation, expressive playing, and the essential study of music theory.

Piano and Organ Lessons

I am also available to teach piano and organ lessons. For more information, visit Brian's organ and carillon music website.

When in death I shall calmly recline,
O bear my heart to my mistress dear,
Tell her it lived upon smiles and wine
Of the brightest hue, while it linger'd here.
Bid her not shed one tear of sorrow
To sully a heart so brilliant and light;
But balmy drops of the red grape borrow,
To bathe the relic from morn till night.

When the light of my song is o'er,
Then take my harp to your ancient hall;
Hang it up at that friendly door,
Where weary travellers love to call.
Then if some bard, who roams forsaken,
Revive its soft note in passing along,
Oh! let one thought of its master waken
Your warmest smile for the child of song.

Keep this cup, which is now o'erflowing,
To grace your revel, when I'm at rest;
Never, oh! never its balm bestowing
On lips that beauty hath seldom blest.
But when some warm devoted lover
To her he adores shall bathe its brim,
Then, then my spirit around shall hover,
And hallow each drop that foams for him.
